The $25 million Caboolture Signature Project is being developed as the north-western edge to the Town Square – the building form and plan developed out of a desire to allow for a visual, and potentially physical, connection to a future development to the south, gain access to winter sun and tree canopy along Hasking Street to the north, and engage with the Town Square to the east. Environmental initiatives that are being pursued include light harvesting, optimizing the performance of the building envelope and indoor environmental quality, natural ventilation in appropriate areas, energy efficient fixtures and fittings, water savings devices and the intention to maintain if not enhance the ecology of the site.
The building is generally a concrete framed structure comprising under croft car parking, 3,000m2 Library facilities, 1,000m2 AAA rated Gallery and associated storage and delivery areas and a 1,000m2 Learning Centre with flexible seminar rooms.
