A joint venture between Education Queensland, the University of Southern Queensland and TAFE Queensland, this project originally involved construction of a $5 million campus at Stanthorpe State High School to deliver quality training for the wine industry from year 10 to tertiary-entry level.

Ridgemill applied its innovative approach to achieving quality outcomes through affordable solutions, utilising a commercial shed construction approach to provide an economical solution for the building shell, which was then finished with a contemporary decorative exterior.

An additional $3.5 million in works were delivered by Ridgemill over four expansion stages, with the completed College facilities including a teaching winery, laboratory interpretative centre, cellar door and cafe, hospitality training kitchens, student amenities, function and seminar centre.

The restaurant facilities are of such a standard that the College’s Varias Restaurant won the Best Restaurant in a Winery category in the Queensland and Northern Territory Savour AustraliaTM Restaurant & Catering HOSTPLUS Awards for Excellence 2015.
